Presidents Weekend – “Lunch with the Tigers”
Lockintyre Airfield in the Hunter Valley
Arrive by 11 am

Our member Peter Anderson, has invited our Club to be a part of this special day at the privately owned Lockintyre Airfield in the Hunter Valley. The airfield is located in Luskintyre, approximately 19 km north west of Maitland. The airfield site has an area of 92.2 ha (228 acres) and is home to the Luskintyre Aviation Flying Museum; and is primarily used for the restoration of vintage aircraft, particularly de Havilland Tiger Moths. The museum has the largest fleet of operational Tiger Moths in Australia. There are five hangars on the property
used for storage and restoration. The airfield is located in Luskintyre about 19 kms west of Maitland.
A BBQ lunch will be available to purchase and there should be a coffee van on site as well.

This is an approx. 2 hours trip from Sydney, so an easy commute on Saturday morning. Presently we are sourcing a suitable motel in Maitland for those who would like to stay
Saturday night, with a proposed dinner on the Saturday night also. This information will be conveyed to members as soon as it is finalised. Sunday you would be free to explore the beautiful Hunter Valley on your trip back home. Please indicate to Carole ASAP on 0412552580 or by email, if you think you would like to attend. Approximate numbers are required for bookings.
